The Out-Door Painters is a group of artists, belonging to the Kawartha Artists' Gallery and Studio. They are an energetic group that meets every Thursday, painting on location in the late spring till late Fall and inviting all to come and try the unique experience of plein aire painting. The sites that are picked are in the Peterborough area and are suitable for most people to arrive at in less than 30 min.

Kags Outdoor Painters, 2008

Sept 11: Astrid Manske - Moffat, 2010 Cameron Line., Take hwy 7 to Cameron Line, which is east of Peterborough between Blezard Line and 2nd line (hwy 38). Turn south (right if coming from Ptbo.) on Cameron Line. Astrid's farm is on the west side (right hand) as you drive south.

Sept 18: Lang Pioneer Village, paint out and removal of art show.

Sept 25: Debra Powers, Pot luck. 21 Agnes St. Head south on Serpent Mounds Rd at the four corners. As you crest the top of the hill, Agnes St is the first left. It does have a street sign, but rather looks like a driveway instead of a road. If you pass the second cemetery, you have gone to far. I am the only house on the cul-de-sac so am easy to find. I have plenty of parking and you are welcome to leave your cars here for the day, but the hill is a bit of a climb back if you want to wander down to the center village for painting. there is a distant view of Rice lake to take in.

Our painters enjoy the outdoors, be it talking to the animals or crouching in a garden.

If you are a member ( you do not have to be, to try out the Outdoor Painters Group) you will enjoy the fellowship and sharing it provides. All this for very little $2.00 each time (only when you use the gallery) it is free to all, when we are location. So why not!
